With each vintage, varietal batches are selected for Grandfather. These batches are individually aged in seasoned old oak casks before being blended together at 14 years of age. This blend is then introduced into the 'Grandfather Solera'. This Solera consists of six stages that are designed to fully integrate all components offering consistency and freshness with a final minimum average blended age of 20 years. Deep amber/mahogany in colour with green-gold tinges, this is a blend of the finest old tawnies. The palate shows classical Penfolds fruitcake, liquorice and vanillin oak flavours with a sweet full and round mid-palate, and a finish that persists on and on.

Louis Roederer Collection represents the number of blends created by the House since its foundation in 1776. Collection 246 is a delectably light and fresh champagne, with an exceptional proportion of Chardonnay lending it finesse, elegance, and a subtle chalky quality. Its delicately toasted and iodised reductive notes give it a finely honed character, complemented by hints of yellow fruit and candied citrus. The dynamic, fresh and creamy bubbles contribute to its overall delicacy, underpinned by an impression of salinity and a subtly toasted aromatic trail.

The nose, very open and expressive, delivers aromas of fruit and brioche. It also gives off the fragrance of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pod. The entry onto the palate is lively, fresh and in total harmony. This is a delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey.

Fermented and macerated on skins for up to 2 weeks with some partial barrel fermentation. Following pressing and clarification, the wine was matured in French oak hogsheads for approximately 18 months. Full bodied, classic Stonewell with massive density and length. Classic blue and black fruits with ironstone and graphite tannins. A long life ahead, one of the all-time classic Stonewell's.

The Six Grapes symbol dates back to the nineteenth century, when Graham's winemakers marked each barrel after harvest with grape symbols to denote quality. By the early 1900s, Graham's began bottling wine from these select barrels under the Six Grapes label, establishing what would become its signature reserve port.
