Crafted from a selection of outstanding wines matured in seasoned small oak casks for a minimum average of ten years, it bridges the youthful fruit of Penfolds Club Tawny with the richness and complexity of older styles, creating a wine of remarkable balance and refinement. The nose reveals inviting aromas of toasted nuts, chocolate, raisin, ripe plum and warming clove spice, lifted by a distinctive hint of aniseed. Steeped in Penfolds history, Grandfather Rare Tawny 20 Year Old traces its origins to 1915, when a cask of the winery's finest Tawny was reserved exclusively for the Penfold family. Today, that legacy lives on through a meticulous solera system, where carefully selected parcels are matured in seasoned oak before being blended to achieve a minimum average age of 20 years, delivering exceptional depth, balance and consistency. Layers of raisin, rich fruitcake, liquorice and roasted walnuts unfold on the nose, revealing remarkable freshness despite its extended maturation. The palate is luxuriously full and rounded, with classic fruitcake flavours, subtle vanillin oak and a seamless richness that lingers long after each sip. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietal is widely planted across South Australia's premium wine regions, particularly in the Limestone Coast where grapes with tremendous structure and beautiful aromatics are found. Well-regarded since its launch in 2002, the Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the merits of multi-regional blending to Penfolds 'House Style'. A bold, full bodied wine displaying lovely aromatics, excellent structure, and great length.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon parcels sourced from vineyards throughout the Barossa. The fruit is fermented for up to 14 days, then aged for 12 months in a mix of French and American oak. Individual parcels of fruit are matured separately to maximise the blend's complexity and finalised through a selection process. The resulting wine is rich and concentrated with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, blackcurrants and plums with mint and varietal leafy notes. The palate is plush with flavours balanced by fine, textural tannins.
